How it works

  1. Open the base PDF and add other PDF files if you need their pages.

  2. Choose a position before an existing page or at the end; without another file, choose the number of blank pages.

  3. Create the revised PDF and check both sides of the inserted section.

Useful next steps

Extract PDF pages into one separate documentSave selected PDF pages together as a new PDF. Choose individual pages or ranges and keep the original file for the complete document.
Reorder PDF pages into the sequence you needRearrange all pages in one PDF by entering their new order. Keep every page exactly once and check covers, appendices and existing printed numbers.
Merge PDF files in the order you needCombine several PDFs into one document. Check the file order and the finished pages before downloading the result.
Add page numbers to a PDF for easier referenceInsert a centered page count at the bottom of selected PDF pages. Review existing footers and understand how covers affect the numbering.

Understand the insertion position

Position 3 places new pages before the current third page. In a ten-page document, position 11 means the end. To add an appendix immediately after the cover, choose position 2. The remaining pages keep their relative order. Use the page-reordering tool if you subsequently need to move individual pages elsewhere.

Prepare either an appendix or a placeholder

When you add more PDFs, their pages become the inserted content. With only the base file selected, you can insert 1 to 20 blank pages instead. Check mixed paper sizes and orientations before printing. Existing page numbers printed inside the document do not automatically change their meaning after insertion; revise numbering separately where necessary.

Frequently asked questions

Which file stays the main document?

The first selected PDF is the base. Other selected files supply the inserted content.

Can I insert just one page from an appendix?

Extract that page into a separate PDF first, then insert the extracted file at the required position.
