Use the overview to guide your next reading step
A summary helps you identify the subject and a few central details before reading more closely. The assistant is instructed to extract a small number of brief facts from the supplied text. It does not create a complete set of minutes or a new PDF version. To investigate a particular point afterward, ask a specific question about the document and check the relevant passage.
Account for long documents and scanned pages
For a large document, the answer may rely on selected text passages. A notice indicates that the entire document did not contribute to the answer. An omitted detail is therefore not proof that it is absent from the original. Image-only scans need OCR first; tables, small print and recognition errors can also affect the extracted text. Compare figures directly with the visible source page.
Frequently asked questions
Does summarizing change my PDF?
No. The answer appears as text in the AI panel. The function does not shorten or replace pages, and it does not automatically insert the summary into the PDF.
Is the summary complete and error-free?
That cannot be guaranteed. Check important statements against the original, especially with selected passages or scanned sources. A short overview does not replace a full review of the document.
