What structural rewriting can help with
Resaving can help when a PDF structure is still readable but creates difficulties during opening or further processing. Test the result in the application that originally had trouble. A completed download alone does not establish that every page is complete or looks right. Compare any page containing important figures, signatures or diagrams with a known reference.
Missing data remains a limitation
The tool cannot invent damaged pictures, lost words or absent pages. If the file cannot be read at all, the attempt ends with an error. A fresh export from the source application or an intact backup is then often the next useful step. Repair also does not bypass a password needed to open the document.
Frequently asked questions
Is a successful repair guaranteed?
No. The outcome depends on which parts of the source file are still readable.
Should I delete the original afterward?
Keep it until you have checked the new version. It may still be useful when comparing another export or backup.
