Useful next steps

Edit a PDF: text, images and annotationsEdit PDF text, add images and mark up pages. Review your changes in the easyPDF24 preview before applying them.
PDF OCR: make scanned text searchableRecognize printed German or English text in PDF scans. Add a searchable text layer and check the recognized content.
Redact text and selected areas in a PDFRemove matching text or selected areas from a new PDF version. Check the result with text search and review nearby content.

Use the password for this exact file

Passwords are case-sensitive, and a newer version of a document may have a different one. If unlocking fails, check for a typing error or an extra space introduced when copying the password. The tool authenticates against the selected PDF before saving an unencrypted copy. It cannot discover an unknown password or bypass the need for a valid one.

Keep protected and working copies distinguishable

An unlocked output no longer requires the recipient to enter the original opening password. Give it a filename that makes this difference clear, especially if both versions are in the same folder. Removing password protection does not make scanned text editable or remove unwanted page content. Use OCR for a supported scan, text editing for corrections and redaction for information that must be removed.

Frequently asked questions

What if I have forgotten the password?

This tool does not recover or guess passwords. You need the correct password from the document's creator or another source copy you can already open.

Will the protected original change?

No. The file on your device remains as it was. The downloaded output is a separate PDF, so keep track of which version you use afterward.
